Botox® Cosmetic is a safe and highly effective treatment, revolutionizing the cosmetic elimination of facial lines and wrinkles. Since Botox Cosmetic was approved by the FDA in 1989, I’ve treated hundreds of clients, achieving outstanding results in obliterating fine lines – frown, squint, and smile lines – and even the toughest wrinkles.
We use the only form of Botox Cosmetic that is currently licensed for sale in the U.S., manufactured exclusively by Allergan, a legitimate and respected pharmaceutical company. This approved, purified form of the drug Botulinum toxin is a potent medication that actually relaxes muscles when it is injected directly into them, targeting the problem area with no ability to cause effects beyond a few millimeters around the injection site. A recent study demonstrated the safety of Botox Cosmetic (the real Allergan-produced medication) in the hands of a well-trained physician. Last year over 8 million Botox Cosmetic treatments were given in North America, and the study found no long-term detrimental effects.
To ensure the optimal effect from this age-defying procedure, it is essential to entrust your treatment to the hands of a highly skilled physician. Botox Cosmetic treatments are as much an art as they are a science. There is no cookbook formula for knowing the exact locations and amounts of Botox for injection. Every patient’s facial anatomy has individual variations, and a doctor must have considerable experience to evaluate your unique facial muscles and expression before inserting the Botox. To provide my clients exceptional service, I regularly upgrade my knowledge through accredited courses, and I also train other doctors in performing Botox Cosmetic procedures.
For the vast majority of Botox patients, the effects of Botox slowly wear off over a period of 3 to 6 months. With repeated use, the drug’s effect often lasts longer and longer – some people can go for periods of up to 9 months without treatment. There’s no record of any rebound effect whatsoever. The worst-case scenario is that you will return to your pre-Botox look.
Used with discretion, Botox Cosmetic will give you a youthful, unstressed appearance. Occasionally examples turn up in the media of celebrities who have overdone it – however, the goal of Botox Cosmetic treatment is not to “freeze” the face, but to permit natural, relaxed facial expressions. Your physician’s judgment is essential here, determining exactly the individualized dose and location of Botox that is just right for you. The key is to know how far to go, without paralyzing the essential muscles required for normal function.
