I’m very impatiently waiting for my tax return.  Everyday I check the balance in my account to see if the money has increased instead of the normal decrease.  I’ve thought this over – so many times, and have made notes on how I’m going to spend this money.  The first and most important category would be to pay down some credit card debt.  That’s always a good feeling – after all I need to make room for more things I can buy!  (Just kidding….not really) But seriously, I do have a plan. 

Credit card debt, home improvements, a rainy day emergency fund and of course something fun to reward myself are the ways I have decided to use this money.  I’ve been admiring a pair of Versace sunglasses at the mall for quite some time now.  Or maybe the 47″ flat screen (that my son wants me to buy) might steal my attention…I’m not sure – but either way I’m treating myself to something good! 

Good economy or bad economy – we still need to be good to ourselves.  Sometimes its the smallest things that bring us joy, and once and a while it might take something a little bigger.  Whatever you decide – know that you are worth it!

Yes – It’s a snowy day once again, and a great time to enjoy stillness.  I’m nestled in at home finding the pleasure in reading, writing and working on goal setting for the future.  Unloading our minds, and allowing things to come in to focus generates renewal both in the physical body as well as the spiritual body. 

 While cortisol and adrenalin (hormones released as a result of stress) are surging through our bodies, we are compromising our immune systems, breaking down healthy muscle and bone structure, slowing down our healing, as well as impairing digestion, metabolism and mental function.  We soon reach adrenal burnout, and feel the effects of being chronically fatigued and mentally and emotionally drained.

Finding stillness allows our bodies to renew and rejuvenate, bringing a better overall feeling to our psyche.  We ARE what we feel.  If we feel great we ARE great.  If we feel defeated we ARE defeated.  We place so much importance in other things besides our well-being.  If only we took care of ourselves FIRST – we would have the energy we need to then take care of all the other people and things that require our attention. 

Just like the airlines teach you when you fly – give yourself oxygen FIRST, then help your child or partner.  This is what we must also practice in order to be successful in everyday life.  We cannot give what we do not have. 

If you didn’t get time today – think about planning a day just for you.  Take a mental health day and fill it with stillness.  Whatever that means for you…

One of the most frequent calls we get are concerns about looking old because of baggy eyes. Sometimes these are also the cause of the look of dark circles under the eyes as well.

Three guesses who had ‘em (and the first two don’t count) … me.  I hate looking old when I’m not.  I will move mountains to get rid of something that makes me look old — like baggy eyelids.  Unfortunately, up ’till now, the answers were either major surgery or “iffy” in the results department.  

Notice I said … until now.
