Dr. Fairfield now taking insurance for your dermatology visits.

Posted in Main at 5:09 am by Doctor

Yes, it’s true!  The list of insurances we now take for your dermatology care is listed below — but just think of it … all of your skin care under one roof!

Makes sense too — you could even arrange many of your cosmetic and dermatology visits on the same day and save enormous time and gas money!

Now why would I take insurance again?  It’s simple — you and others just like you who are faithful friends of the Center for Aesthetics would benefit tremendously by having all of your skin care needs met in one place — by people you trust. And it’s another way of providing for your complete holistic skin wellness.

So here’s the list of insurances we currently take — right now:

- Aetna — all products

- Cigna — all products

- United Health care

- Independence Blue Cross: Personal Choice, Blue Choice, AmeriHealth PPO, Personal Choice 65, and their Commercial PPO products.

- And soon to come: regular Blue Shield and HighMark products.

This is good news all around — you get comprehensive, complete, “one stop shopping” care … and we get to see more of YOU.

As you have experienced, the value we place on friendship with you is HUGE.

What’s your next step?  Call right now for your next dermatology appointment … and let your insurance take care of the cost!

Our phone number is 215-361-5030 (so you don’t have to look it up). :)

See you soon,

Happy Birthday!!!!

Posted in Oscars Blog at 6:36 am by Oscar

Yep — it’s someone’s birthday (and a BIG one) for someone in my person’s (the doctor) office.

Okay — give it up for Lavonne!  Lavonne’s the Director of the Center for Aesthetics and one of the nicest persons you’ll ever meet.

And it’s her birthday.

Now in cat years she’s … no, I just won’t go there or there’ll be real trouble.

Most guess her in her mid 20’s.  Good for her!

Best I can do for the curious is she makes her age LOOK GOOD!

All my fans should send her a note or heck — call — and wish her well.

The address is Lavonne G. Gifford, LE  1003 S. Broad St., Lansdale, PA 19446.  The phone: 215-361-5030.

Tell her Oscar sent you. :)

Later,

Cosmetic Medicine is NOT About …

Posted in Main at 6:24 am by Doctor

Many other doctors ask me when I coach them what cosmetic medicine is about and what procedures they should be doing?  My answer isn’t exactly what they want to hear because I make them think about what it is their potential clients want — what they’re looking for — what fears and frustrations they have … and what are their desires and aspirations.

You see, it’s really not about the wrinkle, the fat, the skin discoloration at all — but how you feel about it.  It’s all about emotion and suffering because of emotion.  Where the emotion comes from varies — something a friend said, or fear your man (or significant other) will wander. Never mind rational thinking where these fears live — they are real!

For instance, there are plenty of sun-discolored, wrinkly, and yes “chunky” people out there who could care less about how they look.

But if in the deep recesses of your mind you have nagging doubt, or a tightening in your stomach whenever you look in the mirror — hating (an emotion) what you see … there’s only one solution — get rid of the problem.  Banish it.  Send it packing.  It’s action time.

Because to live with your angst is harmful to fulfillment and happiness — even a blocking agent for your business success.

Catch yourself saying, “If I could only ….?”  Then you really need to act and make it go away.

Could it be that easy to reverse what sun, time, aging, having babies, or genetics (you name it) have done to you?  The answer is a resounding “Yes!”

Call and come in — right now — for a consult — and we’ll do the rest. You’ll be part of the decision making process and have lots of options both to suit your time and budget.

The operative word is “action” … to do something … and get on with your life renewed, refreshed, and rejuvenated.

Welcome to the new you. :)

Wishing all the best for you,

James C. Fairfield, MD

As Promised … Cat Yoga

Posted in Oscars Blog at 9:59 am by Oscar

The Perfect Oval

The Perfect Oval

In a previous blog I alluded to the benefits of Yoga — even for me, a cat.
Well here I am in a now famous new Yoga pose called “The Perfect Oval”.

Betcha humans can’t do this one.

Now, if you want the real scoop on benefits of personal training and Yoga as part of a holistic approach to health for your body (including your skin), mind, and spirit (think wonderful stress reduction) then give the Center a call and see Lavonne G. Gifford, LE — the Director.

Lavonne can tie it all together for you — tell you how the puzzle pieces of a personal fitness program (including Yoga) AND appropriate skin care all fit together for a healthier, happier, and beautiful you.

Then go try “The Perfect Oval” …. if you dare. :)

More on the 2008 Emmy Awards!

Posted in In the News at 4:33 am by Doctor

I promised you photos of what the Emmy Awards winners are going to receive … from us … in what they call “The Secret Room.”  My staff worked feverishly to create attractive gifts containing the same awesome products you use on a daily basis.  After all, you are my best referral source for what works for you — so why should we keep it a secret from the rich and famous?

VIP Gift Bags

VIP Gift Bags

Here’s what the VIP Emmy recipients get …. and inside these gorgeous red bags are high end medical grade (our private label) products plus a Gift Card. Their support staff receive similar bags in black with our coffee mug, product and a Gift card as well.

We’ll be receiving photos from the event and as soon as they arrive I’ll post them right here in my blog.

So … stay tuned!

On another topic …

I’ve been looking for the words you would use to describe what worries or frustrates you:

  • About your looks — and here’s the important part … why does it worry or frustrate  you?
  • About what effect or result you would look for from a cosmetic procedure?  No, not just the removal of a wrinkle (for instance) — but how it might change your life, your relationships, or your career?

And I’m also looking for words you might use to describe your dream for yourself, what you aspire to … and what’s holding you back?

Now there’s two ways to tell me what you’re thinking.  One is to submit a comment through this blog — even anonymously.

The other way (if you wish your comments to be more private — you know, where you pull out all the stops and let me in on the real scoop) is just to write me at info@cmderm.com. I promise your email will be held in strictest confidence.

Why do I want these real words?  Because if I understand what’s behind “the why” of your desire for physical change … then I can really help you best.

It’s why I insist my staff and I approach you from the standpoint of Holistic Wellness — involving your body, mind, and spirit.

Life’s pretty darn complicated.  Looking better … then feeling better about yourself is accomplished much better if we know the real reasons.

So send me your feedback!

Here’s to a new you :)

Grief … and resolve ….

Posted in Main at 7:05 am by Doctor

Looking in the mirror I saw a different person — one I didn’t recognize.  Life takes many twists and turns — some not so good.  What was I to do?

Curling up in a corner and withdrawing from any and all decision making seemed a viable option — it was what my system felt like doing.

Why me?  Why now?  So many questions, so much pain.

No answers.

Friends gathered, family judged and offered quick solutions — none making sense … right now.

Sometimes the feeling of being alone is so profound it is palpable.

In my travels and work I’ve met many in the same circumstance and empathized … but now, I can taste it, feel it, experience it in 3-D technicolor.

Life moves on.

I haven’t changed inside — same old me — but now I’ve become aware of things I could change … all to the better.

I now “get it” why people in transition want to “do something” to look better, younger, fresher, reversing what time, stress, “busyness” and sun have done to how I look and feel about myself.

The reason: is to feel alive again.

Starting over may not be in the cards, but at least … I’ll feel alive again.

My clients come in for many procedures … and now I know at least some of the impetus behind these decisions to have Botox, fillers, Fraxel, SmartLipo, and all the rest.  It’s not vanity at all (never thought so) but a commitment to life … to moving on … a resolve not to give in but to fight.

A decision for life.

We're at the Emmy Awards!

Posted in Main at 5:43 am by Doctor

Good grief — you just never know when opportunity strikes. Jay Leno’s producer heard me being interviewed on an LA radio station (I’m called on throughout the country to do this — talking about modern cosmetic procedures) and sent an email to my webmaster asking if we’d make up some gift bags for the VIP Emmy Award winners and their support staff.

So the office has been a beehive of activity getting these ready and they were shipped last Friday.

Is this cool or what?

I’ll upload some photos soon so you can see what they get. The Emmy Awards people promised some celebrity shots too — and I’ll post them as soon as I get them.

Oscar — my cat (he considers me his person) just posted a blog that’s pretty brutal. Check it out. You know Oscar by now and he calls it as he sees it.

Been doing a lot of SmartLipo lately … folks getting body sculpted for the Holidays. Little downtime and amazing results has made this the #1 procedure … right up there with Fraxel.

As Oscar says … now is the time to consider reversing all of the stuff you didn’t like to see in your shorts and bathing suit.

Make the call — and I’ll help you.

Best,
James C. fairfield, MD

What if you don’t?

Posted in Oscars Blog at 5:24 am by Oscar

Hi — it’s Oscar again,
Just had a nice summer doing what I do best — eating, sleeping, and practicing a little “Cat Yoga.” Think I’m kidding? One of the positions is called “The Perfect Oval.” I’ll get my person (the doctor) to get a photo of me just to show you what it looks like. I doubt any human can do it.

Speaking of doubts … got to thinking about September and the perfect opportunity you have to get your self esteem back after staring at your skin and body all summer. What?! Yeah — I gotta lot of nerve — but I don’t have a dog in this fight and besides … my body is perfect.

Back to September — plenty enough time to do something really special for yourself — just in time for the Holidays!

Deciding to have a cosmetic procedure done isn’t supposed to be a gut wrenching decision you know — you want it — so get it.
(Rationalize later all the good reasons why.)

But what if you don’t? Here’s the list:

- You get to keep your leg veins. That way you get to look like Mom.

- Your brown spots, wrinkles, skin sagging … all stay.

- Looking older than your years? Heck — lotsa people do. Even though it’s easy (according to my person, the doctor) to really knock the years off without downtime of significance — you can stay that way.

- The fat roll? Yours to keep. (Just to be kind — I keep mine.)

- Hairy stuff where you don’t want it? My advice — stay hairy — looks good on me and I really don’t know what all the fuss is about. And I haven’t a clue what razor bumps are.

My point is this: if you do nothing about it now then nothing changes!

“Brutal am I” says my friend Yoda … but it’s the truth — the ugly, grim, … truth.

Every spring my person is asked to perform miracles when many of these procedures are done in a series — and it’s too late.

So … starting now not only gets you a rockin’ bod by Holiday time … but also messes with your New Year’s Resolutions — you won’t NEED any! :)

Okay — I’ve been a little hard on you by giving you graphic examples of doing nothing. But that’s my job. Bad cop/good cop. Read my person’s blog if you want to feel all warm and fuzzy.

Like me.

Happy fall and get crackin’ on everything that really bugs you and is holding you back!

Later,
Oscar

Testimonials

  • "My daughter sees Kristie for microdermabrasion treatments for stubborn blackheads. We had tried many prescription items and Proactiv®. We saw little results. We scheduled a consultation to see what other treatments might help the process of clearing up those stubborn blackheads. Kristie recommended microdermabrasion and after the first 2 treatments a great improvement was noticed and improvement continues with each treatment. Kristie's friendly personality put my daughter right at ease."

  • "I am very pleased with the results of Botox and Restylane! I had 3 deep grooves in between my eyes from squinting (a hereditary thing from my father) and it bothered me! My dad's and aunt's grooves are so big they can hold a dime in the slots. Before my lines got like that, I came to see Dr. Fairfield. He did Restylane and I am so happy with the results! Don't hesitate if it bothers you! The staff and Dr. Fairfield are wonderful and they are here for you! Thanks!"

  • "I've had three Fraxel treatments so far and already see tremendous improvement. The overall texture of my skin is smooth and clear of red spots. The deep crevices from nose down to chin is much less pronounced and best of all I can curl my eyelashes again. So, my brows were lifted too!

Amy, Sherley and Kristie were competent and caring as usual.

So with one more treatment to go I believe I can stave off having a thread lift for five or more years."
