My Vision for You

Posted in Main at 2:35 am by Doctor

Odd thought that I, a doctor, actually have a vision for you — our esteemed clients and searchers alike.

You come from various parts of the country, different socioeconomic backgrounds … even different genders.

So what unifying vision could I possibly have covering this bell curve of your lives and experience?

It’s this: that each of you as individuals through contact with us at any level … experience a better quality of life, a new outlook on life, a new vision for yourself … and are enriched enough you are so empowered, so revitalized, that you naturally, in the excitement of your personal transformation, ”pass it on” to others.

Not that you can “do” cosmetic procedures — but instead, take the essence of our business — compassion — and touch those in your sphere of influence with the same.

That there is hope … a new life … fresh vitality … personal growth and empowerment … success in relationships and in your careers and businesses.  All of these and more “happen” when you encounter compassion and are the recipient of its power.

So, I go on record as having this vision for you, dear reader — that is perhaps bigger than the vision you have for yourself.

For while we deal with wrinkles; brown spots; veins, hair, and fat that are in the wrong places — our real work is far more significant – recognizing and affirming your deeper needs and desires as they are reflected in these easy-to-solve issues.

So we walk with you on a segment of your journey … hoping through understanding and compassion you receive something worthwhile in the bigger picture to pass on to others.

Father's Day

Posted in Main at 6:49 am by Doctor

All across the US fathers are being honored by their children for being who they are … fathers.

I’m taken back to memories growing up with the influence of my father.  He spent a lot of time with me and somehow conveyed the notion I was the most important person to him — in that moment.  I have a brother and two sisters and he somehow created the same feeling for them.

It was my Dad (also James) who taught me problem solving.  How first to examine a situation to define what the problem actually was … not what it seemed to be.  How to be creative in solution making — reaching beyond the “broken part” and often creating solutions obviating the need for the broken piece altogether … or by using ingenuity to fix what was broken.

These became life lessons.  For him, thinking “inside the box” was as important as thinking “outside the box.”  It was analytical thinking that led to the sense that there was always an answer.

Years later as a dermatologist I use these analytical skills daily, almost Sherlock Holmes style sleuthing for diagnoses and solutions not obvious at first glance.  To the unititiated it seems magic … or brilliant.  What it is in reality is nothing more than what I learned from my Dad — how to examine a problem and look for the answer within the problem itself.

Other memories … fishing (and patiently being taught how) … constructing forts … and lofts for my racing pigeons … or just the Sunday drive to a scenic area to hike … looking for wildflowers my mother delighted to find and identify.  All of these were part of who my father was — he was involved … and invested … in his children.

I pray I’ve passed on to my three children some of the same magic and love.  They tell me I have and their confidence in life indicates I’ve been successful.

My children accept me — imperfect-but-trying — as we all do, in love and shared memories.

We fathers share the happy burden of passing on a legacy.  That legacy is how to live, be kind, be honest, and above all solve their own problems — facing life accepting responsibiliy and using mistakes as building blocks for moving on to better things.

Happy Father’s Day.

But it’s true — we’ve rolled back pricing on both Fraxel and Laser Hair Removal (and multiple syringes of the fillers Restylane and Juvederm) for a perfectly good reason.

All of these can be done in summer — even worked around family events and vacations.

Even better — you’ll look awesome at back-to-school time.

Summer Blow Out Specials

Posted in Oscars Blog at 3:01 pm by Oscar

Hi folks … Oscar here.  Somehow this blog got toasted so here it is again.

My person (the doctor) the-one-who-fills-my-bowl has arguably lost it.  But — says he has a good reason for the specials going on right now at his office.

He wants people to know it’s perfectly okay to have Fraxel and SmartLipo, the fillers and Botox, Laser Hair Removal … done in the summer!

So, he’s making it worth your while.  Just to prove that point.

Here’s the deal:

First — Fraxel and Laser Hair Removal series have undergone a massive price roll-back for the summer.

JUMP on that like I would a mouse.  (I’m a cat — deal — besides, mice are delicious.)

AND — if you want a FREE Fraxel (has a nice ring, doesn’t it?) then just invest in any area of SmartLipo and you’ll get one — just because. :)

This just in: the first 10 people doing the SmartLipo – Free Fraxel thing in each of June, July, and August also can have one session of all-you-need Botox.

Man — he’s giving away the store.

Then to top it off … he’s lowered the cost for those of you needing multiple syringes of filler (Juvederm Ultra and Restylane).

Lavonne — his Director — already blogged about the product sale.

Want an unusual image?  Picture the doctor in front of his bathroom mirror putting glop on his face.  I see it every morning ’cause I’m sitting in the other sink watching him.

Now, if a guy can be persuaded to do this — the stuff must work pretty well.

And the stuff’s on sale!!  Grab all you can while he’s in this mood. :)

Anything else?  Here’s what you do — send me comments on what you want — doesn’t matter — I’ve got thick skin — kinda’ furry — but I’ll listen to anything.

I’ve also got the doctors ear … he listens to me.

Later ladies and dudes,

Oscar

When is Botox … Not Botox?

Posted in Main at 10:46 am by Doctor

  • When it’s administered by a cookbook formula (not all people are the same)

  • When the provider doesn’t ask you what you want … for the look you want

  • When the provider doesn’t know how to keep your look natural

  • When the provider only knows a couple of places to use Botox

  • When the provider pitches low prices – somebody’s cutting corners.  Want that for your look … for your face?

  • When the provider doesn’t “get it” that we all are a little asymmetric — not the same on both sides — and fails to compensate

There’s much more, but you get the point.

As with all cosmetic medicine — injectables and procedures — the craft of the cosmetic doctor is an art.

Science is used — but it is artistry that is performed.

Here’s the metaphor: you can buy the print … or invest in the original work of art.

Fortunately, you have a choice.

Find a Master.

Testimonials

  • "My daughter sees Kristie for microdermabrasion treatments for stubborn blackheads. We had tried many prescription items and Proactiv®. We saw little results. We scheduled a consultation to see what other treatments might help the process of clearing up those stubborn blackheads. Kristie recommended microdermabrasion and after the first 2 treatments a great improvement was noticed and improvement continues with each treatment. Kristie's friendly personality put my daughter right at ease."

  • "I had Botox at another doctor's office and it did not take. I came here to Dr. Fairfield's office and was so pleased with the results. I am fifty two years old and not many people believe it. I feel much happier when I look into the mirror these days. I also drive over fifty miles to get here one way, but it is worth it!"

  • "I am very pleased with the results of Botox and Restylane! I had 3 deep grooves in between my eyes from squinting (a hereditary thing from my father) and it bothered me! My dad's and aunt's grooves are so big they can hold a dime in the slots. Before my lines got like that, I came to see Dr. Fairfield. He did Restylane and I am so happy with the results! Don't hesitate if it bothers you! The staff and Dr. Fairfield are wonderful and they are here for you! Thanks!"

  • "I've had three Fraxel treatments so far and already see tremendous improvement. The overall texture of my skin is smooth and clear of red spots. The deep crevices from nose down to chin is much less pronounced and best of all I can curl my eyelashes again. So, my brows were lifted too!

Amy, Sherley and Kristie were competent and caring as usual.

So with one more treatment to go I believe I can stave off having a thread lift for five or more years."
