Hey girls! Just last weekend I attended a one day conference along with Kristie from the office and my niece. We took the train down to the Philadelphia Convention Center to spend the day listening to Drs. Mehmet Oz and Michael Roizen. Best known for their presence on the Oprah show. We learned some fascinating facts about the causes of aging, cholesterol, blood pressure, the benefits of walnuts, how aspirin is an antiaging product, how 30 minutes of walking per day is one of the biggest ways to enhance healthy aging. I could go on and on. What an educational day – so well worth it! Just thought I’d share some of my notes with you!
1. The causes of aging – rusting of the arteries, weakening of the immune system and social issues.
2. The 5 biggest life adjustments you can make – blood pressure control, no smoking, exercise 30 minutes daily, stress control, and eating a healthy diet that you love!
3. Inflammation in the arteries cause wrinkles in the skin. Toxins build up, nutrients can’t reach the cells, and the skin doesn’t get nourishment.
4. Eighty-five percent of headaches are from dehydration.
5. Your water intake per day should equal half your body weight in ounces.
6. The liver is responsible for metabolism.
7. Insomniacs crave carbs.
8. Muscle burns 50x more calories than fat.
9. The spice helpful for controlling weight is cinnamon.
10. Ten tablespoons of tomato sauce per week will increase your life expectancy.
