Dr. James Fairfield has established the oldest and most respected dermatology practice in the Delaware Valley area, serving quality-conscious patients from Montgomery and Bucks Counties, Main Line Philadelphia, the Scranton-Wilkes Barre region, New Jersey, and New York City. His dermatology practice began in 1982, when he headed the Dermatology Department of the largest free-standing medical group east of the Mississippi, the Lansdale Medical Group.
In 2002 he established Central Montgomery Dermatology Associates and the Center for Aesthetics to create an outstanding care experience for his clients. His success in this endeavor has brought him a high number of clients, and he has designed his cosmetic dermatology practice to ensure their complete satisfaction. To this end, Dr. Fairfield has assembled a large, extremely devoted staff of top professionals, expert in their particular cosmetic dermatology procedures, whose dedication to quality care is without parallel. In this way he has achieved his goal: to offer unrivaled personal service to each of his dermatology clients.
“We see between 350 and 400 clients a week, and still give each person the time and attention they deserve,” says Dr. Fairfield. This high degree of service routinely wins Central Montgomery Dermatology Associates the Reporter’s Reader’s Choice Award for the area’s best dermatology office.
Dr. Fairfield himself is a leading dermatology expert with not only a quarter of a century of general dermatology experience, but also over a decade of experience in cosmetic dermatology. From Dr. Fairfield:
I started practice in general dermatology in 1982, and have continued to the present, though for the past 15 years have developed an interest in cosmetic dermatology. I’ve listened to the requests of my patients, and have responded. There are a lot of "practitioners" out there who purport to be experts in cosmetic issues, but most do not have the training, appreciation, or understanding of the skin that a fully trained dermatologist has. I am that, plus have taken extensive training in the cosmetic procedures I offer by the world’s experts.
Purchasing my first laser in 1982, I was trained by Leon Goldman, MD (Cincinnati, Ohio) who has been thought by many to have been the "father of medical lasers". Since then, multiple lasers later, I now teach doctors from all over the US how to run effective cosmetic practices.
I’ve always loved the practice of medicine. I’ve been a doctor to the "stars" and many famous people. I have many letters from grateful patients who say I’ve saved their lives, or have made a significant contribution to their quality of life. However my biggest reward is in seeing the happy faces and hearing the appreciative words of those I’ve been privileged to help, and who are delighted in my work.
Cosmetic medicine is "happy medicine", where disease is not involved, but desire for a better, more natural look is very much at stake. Fortunately, technology has caught up with the requests for help. I can actually deliver what clients want, with high value, and with expertise. In cosmetic medicine I can return to a relationship with my clients – without third party (insurance) intervention, involvement, or rules. The field is wide open, and the fun is back in my day, and hopefully in the days of happy clients.
